Zanagroove issues first EP album on April Fool's Day!
On April Fool's Day, 2009, Zanagroove wrapped up the mastering of their first EP album, featuring five original songs. It was recorded at Dead Horse Studio, engineered by Jon Gold, with additional tracks recorded at Neptune Closet One, engineered by the band's own Jim Wilson. Omar Rane mixed and mastered it at the Tone Palace, all in Taos, New Mexico.
Here are some early reviews by music professionals:
"The music of Zanagroove, a young new band on the rise in Taos,
NM, is strangely reminiscent of Isaac Hayes, Talking Heads and The
B-52's rolled into an original package. Funky, fun and danceable,
their freshly recorded demo tracks, while a bit raw and unrefined,
reflect the captivating energy of the band's live performances.
Zanagroove reveals the essence of what many successful bands are made
of - gutsy raw energy, solid song-writing by Brooke Zanetell and
creative instrumental riffs by guitarist Philip Handmaker. There is
definite potential here. Keep a close ear out for Zanagroove as they
solidify their unique style and progress in their musical evolution."

"Zanagroove will light your fire! Funny, fast, and funky, their music
makes you laugh, dance and even think! Zanetell has an original lyric
flair as both writer and lead singer and she's assembled a band which
compliments her original, eclectic style of music. This is true-blue,
let your hair down, get down and party music!"
